Job Summary PM Food Safety Quality Leader – Working role that coordinates and assists the Manager in the Food Safety Quality (FSQ) department. Performs tasks associated with equipment cleaners, manages plant documentation systems, and serves as a SQF practitioner. Supports plant internal audits, inspections, environmental microbiological testing, and corrective/preventive action programs. Investigates plant nonconforming product incidents, consumer complaints, conducts root‑cause analysis, and leads corrective action efforts. Responsibilities Supervise equipment cleaners and part‑time weekend personnel to meet daily and preventative sanitation schedules. Assess and coach employee performance, conduct probationary/regular performance reviews, and provide timely feedback. Learn equipment cleaner tasks and perform them when scheduled or required, including disassembly, reassembly, and cleaning of equipment. Analyze sanitation problems and deficiencies, initiate proper corrective actions, and improve sanitation methods. Maintain sanitation schedules and associated procedures in manual and computerized systems. Prepare, present, and document facts regarding disciplinary actions. Communicate with the supervisor regarding personnel issues, workload, special requests, crewing shortages, and schedule changes. Maintain open communication channels with all departments and collaborate to achieve primary plant goals. Analyze equipment performance, enter/ create work orders in SAP, and describe problems related to inferior production. Respond to schedules, emails, documents, and task lists promptly. Ensure adherence to SQF, HACCP, CTS, Safety, and GMP standards. Adjust work procedures and schedules to meet production demands. Lead plant internal quality audits and the weekly GMP inspection program. Support environmental testing: perform testing, report results, analyze trends, and coordinate corrective actions. Investigate quality incidents and consumer complaints, including pest management and finished product, ingredients, process, and shelf‑life tests. Assume responsibility of the sanitation department in the absence of the FSQ PM Leader. Complete licensing in the pie program and train new employees. Competencies Analytical – interprets complex information, prioritizes work, and develops action plans. Computer Skills – working knowledge of SAP Manufacturing software, Word, and Excel. Delegation – assigns tasks, ensures clarity, and monitors delegated activities. Language Skills – reads and interprets safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; writes routine reports. Mathematical Skills – performs basic calculations and interprets numeric data. Multi‑tasking – handles multiple priorities and ensures follow‑up. Oral Communication – speaks clearly, listens, and presents to groups. Planning/Organizing – prioritizes and schedules tasks, sets goals, and allocates resources. Reasoning Ability – applies common sense to standard situations. Safety and Security – ensures safety procedures are met and reports unsafe conditions. Written Communication – writes clear, accurate reports and correspondence. Education & Experience Preferred: Associate degree from a two‑year college or technical school. Two years related experience and/or training; food microbiology experience preferred. Certificates / Licenses SQF or AIB certificate preferred. Six Sigma training preferred. Pest control knowledge preferred. Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods; use hands, fingers, and arms for reach and manipulation. Walk, stoop, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems using senses. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; push/pull heavy loads on wheeled dollies. Work Environment The job involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, chemical fumes, airborne particles, hot/cold temperature extremes, high noise levels, forklift traffic, and wet environments.
