Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry/MED-SURG FloatThis position requires a Registered Nurse with a focus on telemetry and medical-surgical competencies. The nurse will be working in a float capacity, providing care in various settings including telemetry, general medical surgical, and moderate volume orthopedic surgical cases.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings, identifying and managing dysrhythmias.Participate in telemetry monitoring both on the unit and through remote systems.Administer and manage IV therapies including blood products, central lines, and PICC lines.Provide care for patients undergoing orthopedic procedures, particularly total joint surgeries.Handle respiratory and thoracic responsibilities such as managing chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, and high flow nasal cannula.Assist in post-cardiac care including monitoring and management following angiograms and cardiac surgeries.Utilize Rapid Response Teams as necessary in emergency situations.Maintain compliance with protocols for cardiac and vasoactive medications.QualificationsMinimum 2 years of telemetry experience required.Must possess at least 3 years of RN experience.Experience with orthopedic procedures, including hysterectomies and myomectomies, is necessary.EPIC experience is required.Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.ACL, BLS, and NIH certifications are mandatory.Ability to float between units as needed.Unit DetailsAverage census of 36 beds with a staffing ratio of 1:4.Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.No call is required.Uniform: Royal Blue scrubs.Patient PopulationThe patient demographic ranges from adolescents to geriatrics, requiring a comprehensive approach to care across various age groups and medical needs.Work ScheduleThis position includes night shifts comprising three 12-hour shifts per week with specific hours from 19:00 to 07:30.Additional NotesPlease note that request time off (RTO) must be included in your submission.
