Role Overview As a Supervisor – Cytogenetics Lab , you will: Provide operational and technical leadership for the cytogenetics laboratory Oversee staff performance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance Coordinate workflow for karyotyping, FISH, and microarray testing Troubleshoot technical issues and manage inventory Write and maintain lab procedures and perform assay validations Review complex cases for accuracy and prepare reports using ISCN nomenclature Consult with genetic counselors, pathologists, and clinicians to ensure appropriate testing Hire, train, and mentor technologists; schedule staff and conduct evaluations Maintain inspection readiness and compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state regulations Drive continuous process improvement and innovation Perform bench work as needed and assist with operational tasks Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field Cytogenetics experience required ASCP Certification in Cytogenetics (Required) Florida Cytogenetics Lab Supervisor License (Required) What We Offer BayCare provides a competitive total rewards package, including: Paid Time Off Tuition Assistance 401(k) Match and additional yearly contribution Wellness programs and community perks Take the Next Step Bring your leadership and technical expertise to BayCare and help us deliver exceptional cytogenetics services.
