About The Role The Laboratory Informatics Systems Administrator plays a vital role in overseeing the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of laboratory informatics systems within a regulated environment. This position ensures that all laboratory software solutions operate reliably, securely, and in compliance with applicable regulatory standards. Acting as a key liaison between laboratory operations, IT, quality assurance, and external vendors, the administrator supports system functionality, data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include managing user access, maintaining validated system states, supporting audits and inspections, and troubleshooting technical issues that could impact laboratory workflows. Success in this role requires a strong technical aptitude, a comprehensive understanding of regulated laboratory processes, and the ability to translate operational needs into compliant digital solutions that enhance efficiency and data quality. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have between 2 to 4 years of related experience in laboratory informatics or a similar domain. Professional certifications related to laboratory systems or information technology are preferred. The role requires occasional business travel, so a valid driver's license and passport are necessary. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical skills, familiarity with laboratory regulatory requirements, and experience working with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), SAP, MES, OEM, or EBR. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to system management are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Oversee the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of laboratory informatics systems, ensuring continuous compliance with regulatory standards. Manage user access controls, validate system states, and support audit and inspection activities to ensure data integrity and system reliability. Collaborate with laboratory, IT, quality assurance, and external vendors to troubleshoot technical issues impacting workflows and data accuracy. Support initiatives to standardize engineering documentation, including user requirement specifications, functional specifications, and detailed design documents. Assist in the selection and implementation of tools that streamline engineering lifecycle management and risk analysis activities. Participate in risk analysis for engineering equipment and automation, supporting the development of risk management documents and software pre-specifications. Support artificial intelligence and machine learning projects by developing procedures, testing functionalities, and assisting with initial installations and validations. Create and maintain standard work instructions for AI/ML processes, establishing Good Machine Learning Practices (GMLP) for algorithm development. Collaborate on the authoring of risk management documents, software specifications, and change protocols for AI/ML systems. Upload and route engineering documentation through electronic systems such as BDocs, PEM-IT, and other digital tools. Participate in lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence activities to promote continuous improvement. Support smart manufacturing initiatives, including the integration of cobots, robotics, and data analytics, working closely with automation teams. Facilitate pilot projects and proof-of-concept activities for new manufacturing technologies or equipment. Analyze engineering data from SAP, MES, OEM, and LIMS systems to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes. Implement statistical tools for data analysis to support proactive and predictive process control and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Maintain a comprehensive database of current and emerging engineering technologies, supporting the adoption of innovative solutions. Support the practical application of new technologies at B. Braun Medical locations, ensuring smooth integration and compliance.
