Plant Maintenance Mechanic – Process Equipment (Chemical)

Direct hire via Integrity Trade Services for a chemical manufacturer in Forest View, IL near Midway Airport. $28–$32/hour DOE with full client benefits upon hire.

Role Overview

• Keep production assets reliable through preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair process equipment: pumps, mixers, steam systems, and associated utilities.
• Execute basic electrical troubleshooting at 460/220/110 VAC .
• Install/maintain piping up to 3" and process instrumentation (gauges, transducers, thermocouples).
• Support equipment installs, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Maintain CMMS records and uphold 5S housekeeping standards.
• Work safely under OSHA requirements: LOTO, PPE, hot work permits, confined space, fall protection.
• Respond to scheduled and unscheduled priorities and join a rotating after-hours call-in program.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including dirty or steam-heated areas and in all weather.

Schedule & Location

• Shift: 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Training: Ability to train on 1st shift for the first 1–2 months
• Additional: Some Saturdays and rotating after-hours call-ins
• Location: Forest View, IL (near Midway Airport)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Technical degree/certificate/apprenticeship preferred; equivalent mix of education and experience considered.
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (required); chemical processing experience preferred.
• Skilled in fabrication, welding, mechanical repair, and basic electrical work.
• Computer literacy including CMMS and online training tools.
• Licensed and safe operation of powered industrial trucks (forklift, scissor lift, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record for occasional company vehicle use.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Functional hearing, speech, and vision (depth perception and focus ability).
• Medical clearance and fit-testing to wear a respirator when duties require.
• Ability to work in confined spaces as needed.
