The Sr. Project Manager position is a high‑profile leadership role at Black & Veatch. In this capacity, you will be part of the Water/Wastewater business leadership team and responsible for managing the successful delivery of water infrastructure projects in the multi‑million‑dollar range in Richmond, VA. The Team Black & Veatch’s Governments & Communities sector focuses on specific infrastructure needs of municipalities, state and local governments, and specialized physical and digital infrastructure solutions for government and federal agencies. Key Responsibilities Business Development Lead team efforts for marketing. Develop strategy. Identify prospects, develop proposals, present to clients, budget and contract for opportunities. Accountable for new business objectives and overall project performance. Project Management Interact with assigned clients, participate in client activities, promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities. Support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, client engagement strategies. Project Execution Oversee engineering manager(s). Develop project performance goals. Implement accountability for project execution. Assist with performance and commercial management, budget, invoicing, payments; lead project performance reviews. Staff Management Develop, mentor, coach team performance. Recommend training and promotions; identify and develop new candidates. Management Responsibilities Acts as a project manager and manages a project team. The team composition may vary by project. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of active water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership in the Richmond, VA market. Professional Engineering License and Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline. Understanding of budgets and financial metrics. Contract negotiation skills and knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Capable of completing pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
