Department Overview

• 2 Echo Suites and 2 TEE Rooms
• Performs bedside inpatient studies as needed
• Volume: 40–60 patients per day

Patient Population

• Pediatrics and adults
• Inpatient and outpatient cases
• Common studies/diagnoses:
  • CHF
  • Pre/Post Cath
  • Pre/Post CABG
  • Watchman procedures
  • TAVR
  • PFO evaluations
  • Bubble studies
  • Aortic stenosis
  • Mitral regurgitation
  • Stroke and ER patients
  • TEEs
  • Stress tests

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years acute-care Echo experience
• BLS certification
• ARDMS (RDCS/RDMS-RDCS) or RDCS certification
• Must be comfortable performing Pediatric Echo scans 

Required Skills

• Comprehensive adult and pediatric echocardiography
• Accurate EF measurements
• Assisting with pericardiocentesis and other cardiac procedures
• Preliminary interpretation/reporting of findings
• Experience with structural heart cases

Preferred Skills

• Fetal echocardiography experience
• Stress test experience
• Ability to orient/train new hires

Technology

• EMR: Epic
• PACS: Philips Cardiovascular / ISCV / Intellispace
• Equipment: Philips and GE systems
