Deputy Director, Drug Control Program

Deputy Director, Drug Control Program (260003R1) The Drug Control Program (DCP) is part of the Department’s Bureau of Health Professions Licensure and focuses on prescription drug security, safe prescribing, dispensing, and the certification of non‑licensed health care professionals. Duties and Responsibilities Establish and communicate the vision and strategic direction of assigned programs within DCP. Provide direct supervision and support to assigned program teams. Oversee the daily operations, maintenance and technical support of assigned units. Engage in strategic planning to determine appropriate policies and program priorities. Draft, revise, and finalize policy documents for assigned programs. Provide oversight in the response to internal and external data requests, including those from media, law enforcement, researchers and licensure boards. Ensure implementation of statutory and regulatory changes and grant requirements. Assess and review existing regulations and develop regulatory amendments. Analyze and draft written testimony on legislation that may impact DCP. Produce technical and legislative reports. Preferred Qualifications Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills. Skilled in, and knowledgeable of, drug control regulation and regulatory enforcement. Experience in projects and fiscal management. Background in and knowledge of public health or health care systems. Experience in strategic planning, goal setting and implementation. Strong knowledge of at least one of the following specialty areas: legal practice, law enforcement, pharmacy or nursing. Ability to write, read and interpret regulations and guidelines and to assess the impact of those regulations on operations. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of information technology systems. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically, accurately and persuasively in written, verbal and visual formats in internal, external and public settings. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other states, municipal and federal officials, non‑governmental organizations, professionals and other diverse stakeholders. Minimum Entrance Requirements

• A) Five (5) years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, public administration, clinical administration or related fields.
• B) At least one (1) year undertaken in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity.
• C) Or any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.

A certificate in a relevant field may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. A Graduate degree may be substituted for three (3) years of experience. A Doctorate degree may be substituted for four (4) years of experience. Salary Range: $92,644.84 – $142,610.92 per year.
