The individual will be responsible for ensuring proper assembly and craftsmanship. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles, and the ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.Job DutiesAssembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools, power tools and overhead cranes up to 40 tons.Dismantles machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools. Welding various bracketsOperate forklift, scissor lift, boom liftsRepair and lubricate machines and equipment.Operate service grinder to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. Cleaning and packagingWork in a team environment or independently on projectsMay perform installation and maintenance work as part of team of skilled trades workers. Up to 10%-15% travel annually, in 2-week periodsPerforms daily duties from various drawings under minimal supervision.Train and support onboarding of new hires.Leads build teams in all activities including but not limited to; Works with PM to develop a project schedule, coordinating the erection, testing and teardown of machines, checking all sub-assemblies and main assemblies delivered to assembly floor & completing sign off.What you need to be successful3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting, industrial, foundry, production or related manufacturing environment.3+ years of experience in any of the listed areas; mechanical assembly, hydraulics, welding, pipefitting.Must be certified in one or a combination of hydraulics, welding, electricalExperience working in an environment with heavy machineryValid Driver's LicensePreferred QualificationsAssociate's degree or technical certification in relevant industry3 years of experience as an assemblerAjax/CECO/Erie Press is an equal opportunity employer.
