This freelance opportunity is designed for an experienced CPA who wants to apply their accounting expertise to shape impactful learning experiences. You will help transform complex audit and tax accounting practices into clear, actionable frameworks that support the development of early-career professionals. Working closely with learning design specialists, you will contribute to building realistic training experiences, simulations, and performance objectives. The role combines deep accounting knowledge with analytical thinking and the ability to translate professional expertise into structured learning solutions. You will influence how future CPAs build practical skills and accelerate their professional growth. This short-term remote engagement offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to an innovative learning and development project. \n Accountabilities: Analyze and map standard audit and tax accounting workflows into clear performance objectives and knowledge requirements for early-career CPAs. Translate professional accounting expertise into structured learning frameworks, including measurable goals and practical skill expectations. Collaborate with learning experience designers to develop high-level program design documents that guide training development. Define realistic scenarios, decision points, and professional challenges to support virtual simulations and practice-based learning experiences. Provide subject matter expertise to ensure learning content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with real-world accounting practices. Establish content guidelines and help determine the appropriate depth and scope of accounting concepts covered. Participate in SME sessions, objective mapping activities, and proof-of-concept development throughout the engagement. Requirements: Active CPA certification required. Deep professional knowledge of standard audit practice areas, including daily tasks, workflows, and required skills. Strong understanding of tax accounting practices and the competencies needed for successful performance. Ability to break down complex professional expertise into clear, structured steps and measurable learning outcomes. Strong analytical, methodical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to create execution-ready frameworks. Experience collaborating with learning, training, instructional design, or professional development teams is preferred. Comfortable working remotely with virtual collaboration tools, video conferencing platforms, and digital communication channels. Ability to commit approximately 25–35 hours over an 11-week project period, including SME sessions and asynchronous work. Benefits: Competitive freelance compensation of approximately $125 per hour.
