Our organization, in collaboration with a prominent medical center in Detroit, is on the lookout for a board-certified Family Medicine Physician who is eager to engage in resident education within our program located in Detroit, MI.

The Family Medicine Residency Program at our medical center is situated in the northwest region of Detroit, Michigan, and is dedicated to serving one of the city's most at-risk populations. This program effectively combines rigorous academic standards with exposure to a diverse range of medical conditions. Our outstanding training includes hands-on clinical experience at a family practice that has been a cornerstone of the Detroit community for nearly three decades. All rotations are conducted within our healthcare system, which is nationally recognized for its commitment to serving patients and families across Michigan and beyond.

This opportunity is for a full-time Core Faculty position.

• Work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend obligations; shared practice call:
  • 1 day per week dedicated to resident precepting and clinical supervision
  • 1 day per week for personal clinical practice and patient panel management
  • 0.5 day per week for didactics, lectures, and curriculum development
  • 2.5 days per week for administrative duties
• Engage in supervisory and educational roles for residents in an outpatient environment
• Act as a mentor and role model for Family Medicine residents
• Assist in the recruitment of new residents into the program
• Maintain scholarly activities in line with ACGME standards
• Participate in resident journal clubs
• Guide residents on their senior projects and engage in research initiatives
• Deliver direct patient care in an outpatient setting

• MD or DO degree
• DEA certification
• Board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine
• Commitment to continuing medical education (CME)
• Licensed in Michigan or eligible for licensure in the state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain it within three months of hire
• Understanding of preventive medicine principles
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to medicine and community health centers

• 3-5 years of clinical experience in Family Medicine
• Preferred experience in outpatient medical education
