Registered Nurse — Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) — Contract

Department: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Job Type: Contract

Shift: 19:00–07:30, Monday to Friday

Hours Per Week: 36

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to premature and critically ill newborn infants.
  • Attend to infants’ essential needs, including feeding and hygiene.
  • Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans, evaluating treatment effectiveness.
  • Offer comfort and support to infants, parents, and families.
  • Educate families on caring for their newborn at home.

Requirements

  • Licensure and certifications:
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (or compact license, if applicable to Rhode Island).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
    • STABLE certification.
  • Experience:
    • 1–2 years of recent NICU experience (Level II/III).
    • Experience with ventilated and high-acuity neonates preferred.
  • Systems:
    • Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Vaccinations:
    • Flu vaccination required.
    • COVID-19 vaccination required.
