Steward

I. Position Summary

The Steward assists the Executive Chef and staff with complete kitchen support to include, but not limited to, bring requested food and supplies to the kitchen, dispose of refuse and recycling, assist in the proper rotation and storage of food and supplies, receive and store food and supplies, assist in food preparation as requested and support the kitchen staff with various tasks as needed.

II. Responsibilities

· Support the Executive Chef and kitchen staff and requested,

· Receive and organize all food and supplies deliveries,

· Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas,

· Dispose of kitchen refuse and recycling appropriately,

· Assist in food preparation as directed,

· Assist in the proper rotation and storage of food,

· Assist in stocking and maintaining the food case,

· Assist in the filling and maintaining the soup bar,

· Ability to help create Caesar Salads,

· Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices,

· Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner, and

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

IV. Qualifications

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

V. Experience

· Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a fast-paced restaurant environment

· Understanding of health and safety regulations

· Ability to perform tasks quickly and efficiently

· Good communication and teamwork skills

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items

VI. Knowledge/Skills

· Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.

· Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen in a restaurant,

· Previous experience performing basic food preparation within a large commercial kitchen,

· Knowledgeable in ServSafe practices,

· Must possess a positive, “can do” attitude, and

Willing to assist any member of team at all times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
