Job Details Location: Grand Junction Diagnostics - GRAND JUNCTION, CO 81506 Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 Hourly Shift: Day Benefits Base pay: $17-$20Benefits: $7-8Robust benefit coverage includes retirement 401k contribution, profit sharing, full health insurance coverage, life, disability, dental, vision, critical illness and injury coverage, long‑term care, pet insurance, etc. Phlebotomist Job Summary Perform phlebotomy procedures on all patients including pediatric patients. Perform finger‑stick collections on pediatric patients when ordered. Collect urine, mucus or swabs for laboratory testing. Maintain a pleasant working environment for all staff. Duties/Responsibilities Explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions about the process. Help calm nervous or frightened patients and help them remain calm during the procedure. Gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, tubes, etc. Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas. Verify patient information and label all samples properly. Perform phlebotomy successfully with minimal or no complications. Collect other laboratory samples such as urine, nasal swabs, etc. Provide personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients. Work well in a fast‑paced setting. Keep work area and patient waiting area clean, organized and presentable. Help problem‑solve patient issues. Be organized. Be detail oriented. Experience Must have phone skills and pleasant phone voice; customer service oriented; some computer skills; able to work independently and multi‑task; perform well under pressure; able to work at a fast pace. Education Requirements High School Diploma Working Conditions Walking, sitting, bending, and standing with some light lifting. This position must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
