Mechanical Test Engineer (Medical Devices / Combination Products / Instron / Zwick) Location: Branchburg, NJ 08876 (Onsite) Duration: 12-Month Contract (Possible Extension) Pay Rate: $30/hour (W2) Our client, a Fortune 250 global medical technology company serving the Clinical Laboratory, Medical Device, Healthcare Research, and Pharmaceutical industries, is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to support testing of combination products within a regulated laboratory environment. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with mechanical testing experience using Instron and Zwick equipment , strong laboratory documentation skills, and experience supporting quality investigations in a regulated medical device or pharmaceutical environment. Relocation Assistance: No No H1Bs or C2C Key Responsibilities Perform sample receipt, identification, storage, tracking, and return shipment activities. Execute mechanical and laboratory testing using approved test methods, protocols, specifications, Instron , Zwick , and other laboratory equipment. Perform scheduled testing activities including stability studies, aging pulls, and product/equipment testing. Analyze test data using Excel, Minitab, JMP , and other statistical analysis tools. Review test results and assist with technical reports and laboratory documentation. Support laboratory quality systems by identifying and documenting: CAPA activities Deviations Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations Assist with investigation activities and maintain compliance with established Quality Systems. Follow and support SOPs while recommending process improvements where appropriate. Review and assist in preparing laboratory documentation including SOPs, work instructions, test methods, protocols, and reports. Maintain laboratory supplies, chemicals, PPE, and testing inventory. Coordinate sample disposition, hazardous waste handling, and laboratory housekeeping. Communicate project status, testing issues, and scheduling concerns to laboratory management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical updates to clients under supervision. Required Qualifications 0–2 years of laboratory or mechanical testing experience. Experience in medical device, IVD, pharmaceutical, or laboratory testing environments is preferred. Experience with regulated laboratory practices is highly desirable. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and statistical analysis software. Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
