About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: OR (Operating Room) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8, 10, or 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - Level 1 trauma center experience - Experience scrubbing and/or circulating Neuro, Ortho, and Trauma cases Description: ASAP starts only. Must end by June 1st. Manager will interview; no prescreening required. Housing leads are available upon request. Preference for candidates with travel experience. Weekend rotation and call are at the manager's discretion. Travelers work 12-hour shifts on weekends in rotation with other staff. Travelers may be asked to work 8-hour shifts during the week in rotation. Unit has 23 operating suites. Average number of cases per day is 75. Common cases include trauma, ortho, neuro, cardiac, and exploratory laparotomy. Scrubbing is not required for RNs but is a bonus. There is a charge nurse on all shifts. Charge nurses do take assignments. The Electronic Medical Record system used is EPIC. Self-scheduling is allowed within reason; block scheduling is not guaranteed. Weeknight call requirements are 3-4 calls per 4-week period. Weekend call requirements are 1 shift per 4-week period. Call response time is 45 minutes. No floating requirements. The dress code is hospital issued. All travelers are required to take the same amount of call as permanent staff. Call assignments will be determined by the call center. Weekend shifts will rotate; staff assigned 2 shifts will rotate monthly.
