This is more than an HR leadership role. It's an opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in Texas by nurturing a positive, engaged and high performing workforce. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with C-Suite, the Director of People Services plays a critical role in fostering a people first culture that supports more than 200 dedicated employees. With one highly functioning HR support professional as a direct report, this leader will drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, support recruitment & retention, and ensure alignment with the hospital's strategic objectives.

How you'll contribute

A People Services Director who excels in this role:

• Serve as the senior HR leader for the hospital and strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.

• Partner with leaders across the organization to align workforce strategies with business and operational goals.

• Lead employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and culture initiatives.

• Oversee labor relations activities, including administration of collective bargaining agreements and union partnerships.

• Participate in and/or lead union negotiations, grievance management, and employee relations matters.

• Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management, investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution.

• Direct recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and retention efforts to support staffing needs.

• Manage day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, policies, and healthcare regulations.

• Oversee HR audits, reporting, documentation, leaves of absence, accommodations, and policy administration.

• Analyze workforce metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improved engagement, retention, and operational effectiveness.

• Develop and implement action plans based on workforce data and organizational needs.

• Lead employee development, leadership development, and training initiatives across the facility.

• Develop, monitor, and manage departmental budgets and HR-related expenditures.

• Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies while supporting a people-first culture.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, preferably in the areas of Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field. Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field from an accredited school required.

• Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), or Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.

• Three years of human resources experience required.

• Two years of healthcare human resources experience preferred.

• One year of behavioral health experience preferred.

• De-escalation certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Schedule: This is a Full Time, Exempt position. Full comprehensive Benefit and Total Rewards package eligible.
