CDL Driver

Job Title

What you'll do:

• Loads merchandise and materials to ensure appropriate weight, composition and placement of the load so that it is balanced, flagged and safe for hauling within DOT guidelines.
• Checks orders for accuracy by verifying against the shipping papers.
• Loads truck utilizing a forklift and ensuring all loads are tied down and safe for delivery.
• Delivers and unloads materials to customer's satisfaction providing excellent customer service and obeying all traffic safety rules and safe driving habits.
• Perform required pre-trip inspections.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil & water.
• Records all merchandise returns and completes all necessary paperwork associated with delivery & returns. Assists with unloading material returned for credit to the proper location.
• Relays messages to Yard Operations Manager/Dispatcher sent by customers while on the job site.
• Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in the yard and warehouse.
• Assists Customers, supervisors and other employees while truck is being loaded.
• Cooperate with others and work as part of a team by helping each other out.
• Taking pictures of all job site deliveries and returns.
• Working as part of a team to ensure all deliveries are pulled, loaded, and delivered to customers.
• Keeps truck clean and free of debris.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

• Must be able to read and follow directions.
• Computer and technology skills appropriate with business administration (MS Office products and basic computer operations).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to do basic math, read instructions and complete forms.
• Knowledge of road restrictions, DOT inspections and load securement requirements.
• 6 months Commercial driving experience preferred, Current CDL license
• Forklift experience
• 6 months commercial driving experience. (Preferred)
• Must be able to lift and carry items up to 75 lbs.

License or Certification:

• Class B driver's license with Air Brakes with clean MVR
• DOT Medical Card required.
• Class A Driver's license a plus

Salary Range: USD $24.00 - USD $30.00 /Hr.
