Sr Project Engineer

Job TitleLeads or coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management and troubleshooting for engineering projects | Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and costImpact of the RoleRequires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Solves complex problems. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment.Essential FunctionsPerforms engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems.Provides technical support for the engineering process.Designs, implements, and communicates an operational plan for completing the project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan.Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project.Prepares engineering designs and work specifications.Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.Required QualificationsRequired education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experienceDiscipline/Major: Engineering degree requiredCritical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Preferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Bachelor's DegreeKnowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Project management software.Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.Travel RequirementsUp to 25% travel likely.
