Sr Compliance Officer-Flood Compliance

Flood Compliance Subject Matter ExpertThis role serves as Truist's designated flood compliance subject matter expert and is responsible for providing independent oversight, guidance, and risk consultation related to flood regulatory requirements. The position partners with stakeholders across the enterprise to interpret regulatory requirements, assess and challenge business practices, evaluate controls, and support the implementation of effective compliance risk mitigation strategies. The role monitors regulatory changes, advises senior management on emerging risks, and helps ensure ongoing compliance with applicable flood laws and regulations.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesFollowing is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Interpret new or existing laws, rules and regulations that are complex and multifaceted and use that knowledge as a subject matter expert to communicate requirements to the business units.2. Analyze existing policies, procedures, processes and controls to determine gaps. Lead or assist in leading compliance initiatives necessary in implementing changes.3. Analyze and provide guidance on complex compliance actual and emerging risk scenarios within business units and/or functions.4. Develop Risk Committee materials, including evaluation of program effectiveness, level and direction of risks, key and emerging risks, and status of previously identified risk and control issues.5. Communicate with management and regulators with respect to compliance risk management activities and regulatory examinations.6. Implement strategies and methods related to the Flood compliance risk management framework within the organization, including issue management, compliance monitoring indicators, risk and control self-assessments and regulatory updates.7. May manage other Compliance teammates and serve as mentor to other Compliance Officers and Analysts.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience2. Eight years of financial institution experience3. Five years of direct experience in compliance4. Demonstrated experience with regulatory agencies, requirements, and/or regulatory compliance.5. Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of managementPreferred Qualifications:1. MBA, Juris Doctorate or other advanced degree.2. Eight years of compliance experience, with five years at medium to large financial institution3. Prior supervisory or management experience.4. Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)This position is an in-office position 5 days a week. No remote option available. Locations include: (Charlotte, NC), (Atlanta, GA), (Orlando, FL), (Raleigh, NC) (Richmond, VA) and (Winston Salem, NC).To comply with the Virginia pay transparency statute and for work locations in Virginia only, the annual base salary for this position is $100,000-$110,000.
