The Meat Clerk is responsible for washing, inspecting, and rotating all meat products, along with ensuring displays are stocked with new merchandise and ensuring expirations are up to date. The Meat Clerk must possess strong teamwork and customer service skills./ppThe essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:/pulliWork professionally as part of the team and provide excellent customer service;/liliVerify prices, hang current sales signs, and removes out-of-date sales signs;/liliOrder and inventory required meats, seafood, and poultry;/liliSell products by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions;/liliEnsure neat appearance of department and meat displays;/liliComply with sanitation and health guidelines./li/ulpSkills and qualifications:/pulliValid Food Handlers Card;/liliPrior food preparer experience at a grocery store preferred;/liliMust be friendly and people oriented;/liliAbility to work in a fast-paced environment./li/ulpPhysical demands and work conditions:/pulliWALKING: Continuously, throughout the shift, while moving about the store and obtaining product./liliSTANDING: Continuously, throughout the shift./liliLIFTING: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs./li/ulpImportant disclaimer notice:/ppThe job duties, elements, responsibilities, skills, functions, experience, educational factors, and the requirements and conditions listed in this job description are representative only and not exhaustive of the tasks that an employee may be required to perform.
