Licensed Practical Nurse - UI Health Care 1st Avenue Family Medicine Clinic 100%

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 100% (40 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC 1st Avenue Fam Med Clinic . This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics.

Duties to include:

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Current valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week)

Schedule: Variable hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. No on call time, weekends, or holidays required.

Location: Iowa City, IA. (or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours)

Pay Grade: 11

Salary: $44,557.92 - $66,377.52 (at 100% time) Hourly: $21.34 - $31.79 ( based on years of experience )

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider

Special Qualification/License:

• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

Highly Desired Requirements

• Previous EPIC experience
• Previous Family Medicine Clinic experience

Desirable Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role
• Previous phlebotomy experience
• Previous immunization experience

Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position
