Maintenance WorkerSanctuary for Families is New York's leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking and related forms of gender violence. Every year, Sanctuary empowers thousands of adults and children to move from fear and abuse to safety and stability, transforming lives through a comprehensive range of services. We provide a range of wrap-around services to help survivors rebuild their lives in the aftermath of abuse, and work to end gender violence through three key strategies: direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy. Our services are available in 12 locations throughout New York City.The Maintenance Worker provides janitorial and cleaning services of all common areas at the designated location.ResponsibilitiesMaintains the facility common areas and apartments turn-overs.Cleans bathrooms floors and other common areas on a daily basis and as needed.Assists with deliveries such as pantry, donations and other supplies as needed.Arranges and/or moves furniture when necessary.Assist with set-up and clean-up for special events.Paints as needed.Perform any other department or agency related duties or special project as directed.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED preferredOne year relevant experience maintenance experience required including plumbing, electrical, rough carpentry and floor finish.Able to operate small hand toolsMust be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.Basic computer skillsFluency in both English and Spanish preferredAble to travel between sites as neededBudgeted Salary: $25.76 - $28.42 per hour (annualized base salary $46,824.00 - $51,723.00) ; based on experience pursuant to wage scale in accordance with collective bargaining agreementPosition is Full-time; Hourly/Non-ExemptWork position is currently in-person full time; must be able to meet job location schedule obligationsBenefitsHealth, Dental and Vision InsuranceEmployer-paid life insuranceEmployer retirement contributionPaid time off (Holidays, Vacation, Personal, Sick)Generous Leave PolicyFlexible spending account / Health savings accountStudent loan assistanceTuition reimbursement programGym reimbursement programWellness program and rewardsSanctuary for Families is a welcoming workplace.
