Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality. Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions. Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product. Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines. Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment. Occupational Demands Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while working in a plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment is required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear. Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day. Bending and twisting neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day. Frequent hand movement and ability to make precise coordinated movements. May walk up to 6-8 hours per day. Light lifting of 15 lbs with a maximum lift of 50 lbs. Hearing acuity and color/vision requirements are described in job documentation. Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and work under guidance of oral or written instructions. Relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
