Must Have:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of technical leadership or team leadership experience
• Strong experience with:
• Java and/or Node.js
• AWS
• Cloud-native platforms and distributed systems
• Code reviews and mentoring engineers
• Background building or integrating security capabilities into cloud platforms
• Experience with IAM, RBAC, Authentication, Authorization, Secrets Management, WAF, SIEM, Security Scanning, or related SecOps technologies
• CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Harness, or similar)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Target tech stack: AWS, Java, Node.js, IAM, RBAC, AuthN/AuthZ, Security Services, CI/CD, APIs, SDKs, AI, and Platform Engineering.

Experian is looking for a hands-on Security Technical Lead to help build and scale an internal Security Modular Platform used by engineering teams across the organization. This person will lead engineers while remaining highly technical, helping design and deliver reusable security capabilities that developers can consume through APIs, SDKs, portals, and automation tools.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Lead and mentor a team of software engineers
2. Drive code reviews, engineering best practices, and technical design decisions
3. Build and enhance security platform capabilities including:
   1. Authentication & Authorization
   2. RBAC
   3. IAM
   4. Compliance and security controls
   5. Secrets and key management
4. Integrate existing security services into a centralized platform
5. Partner with Product, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams
6. Improve platform scalability, reliability, observability, and automation
7. Help shape the use of AI within the platform and developer experience
8. Support incident response, SLAs, and platform modernization initiatives

Must Have Skills

1. 8+ years of software engineering experience
2. 3+ years of technical leadership or team leadership experience
3. Strong experience with:
   1. Java and/or Node.js
   2. AWS
   3. Cloud-native platforms and distributed systems
   4. Code reviews and mentoring engineers
4. Background building or integrating security capabilities into cloud platforms
5. Experience with IAM, RBAC, Authentication, Authorization, Secrets Management, WAF, SIEM, Security Scanning, or related SecOps technologies
6. CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Harness, or similar)
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

1. Experience building SDKs, APIs, or CLI tools
2. AI/LLM experience within engineering or security environments
3. Prior experience with large-scale internal developer platforms
4. Experience supporting compliance and security initiatives across enterprise environments
