Miller Facility.Starting Salary based on Licensure:Operator 4 - $42,598.40Operator 3 - $46,987.20Operator 2 - $51,771.20Operator 1 - $54,371.20Lead Operator - $61,110.40* Earn Additional Pay with Eligible Evening, Night & Weekend ShiftsDuties and Responsibilities:Oversees the proper functioning of pumps, motors, instrumentation, filters and chemical feedersMaintains operational parameters as specified by the Facility Manager, Chief Operator, or Shift LeaderChecks equipment and records dataCollects samples from designated pointsPerforms routine physical and chemical analyses, records results or takes samples to the lab for more extensive analysisMakes adjustments to operating equipment and notifies superiors of need for repair workKeeps chemical systems adjustedKeeps basins free from foreign matterPerforms general housekeeping duties which include but are not limited to floor maintenance, washing windows, painting, mowing grass, trimming hedges, containing weeds, and cleaning equipmentContributes to a positive work environmentRequirements:Education and/or ExperienceAny combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:Possession of a valid and appropriate driver's license.Possession of a valid Waterworks Operators License, ability to obtain, within 6 months, equivalent license from the State of Virginia, Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation.Job Posting Statement:The City of Winchester is an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or any other classification protected by law.
