Salary: $46,665 to $93,402 (non-PERS). $49,643 to $99,362 (PERS). Job Purpose Statement The Athletic Trainer provides on‑site coverage for athletic events, including pre‑ and post‑event care, maintains supplies, and is responsible for the prevention, rehabilitation, and treatment of athletic injuries in collaboration with a licensed physician. Essential Job Functions Research, plan, and implement injury and illness prevention action plans in accordance with district policies and state law. Conduct initial assessment of injuries/illnesses, diagnose, set activity limitations, develop treatment plans, and determine when to refer to physicians for further testing. Serve as a resource for coaches on conditioning, nutrition, and selection of protective equipment. Attend multisport practices and contests, observe athletes for movement patterns that may predispose them to injury, and respond to injuries/illnesses during activities. Provide emergency care and first aid, including equipment, communication procedures, and triage. Liaise with parents, coaches, school staff, and healthcare professionals regarding individual injuries or illnesses. Educate coaches, students, and parents on injury prevention and care. Develop, implement, and maintain emergency action plans for practice and game locations specific to the assigned high school. Provide on‑site rehabilitation services using therapeutic interventions and equipment. Assess athletes to evaluate treatment efficacy, report progress to coaches and physicians, and modify treatment plans as necessary. Maintain accurate and complete student documentation required by law, district policy, and regulations. Develop and maintain equipment inventory and supplies within budget. Schedule and administer pre‑season neuropsychological testing for concussion management and interpret post‑injury results. Manage concussion protocols, notify school personnel, maintain records, and communicate with medical professionals and parents. Assess wrestler body composition under Oregon’s Wrestling Weight Monitoring Program. Provide training room facilities, rehabilitation, and medical care access to student athletes. Ensure adequate hydration for athletes during events in accordance with league protocol. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Workplace Expectations Work effectively with diverse cultures and backgrounds. Demonstrate professionalism, appropriate judgment, neat appearance, and suitable dress. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Confer regularly with licensed staff and immediate supervisor. Follow all district policies, procedures, and requests by proper authority. Maintain confidentiality of student and district information. Employment offers are contingent upon the following: drug screening tests, criminal history verification, and background checks appropriate to the duties. Bilingual/bi‑cultural applicants are highly desirable. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, kinesiology, sports medicine, or related field (required). Valid athletic trainer registration with the Oregon Health Authority/Health Licensing Office. Valid Emergency Cardiac Care Certification (adult, pediatric, secondary rescuer, AED, airway obstruction, barrier devices). Certification as a Certified Wrestling Body Composition Assessor from the OSAA. Knowledge of first aid practices, injury prevention, and therapeutic procedures. Ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, coaches, and physicians. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
