Senior Software Engineer - Remote

Salary: $128,000 - 215,600 per year Requirements:

• We require U.S. citizenship.
• We require an active Top Secret U.S. Government clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.
• We require a bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related discipline; four additional years of experience may replace the degree, and a masters degree may count as two additional years.
• We require 6+ years of professional experience in programming, design, and/or development.
• We require professional experience with one or more strongly typed languages such as Java, Rust, or similar.
• We require professional experience with one or more scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar.
• We require the willingness to lead technical discussions, mentor technical staff, and guide design and engineering efforts.
• We require working knowledge of agile development practices and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and git.
• We require the willingness to work remotely or near a Vantor facility and to communicate comfortably by video call.
• Preferred: substantial backend development experience with Java and Rust.
• Preferred: experience building low-latency, streaming, or event-driven data processing systems such as Apache Flink or Apache Kafka.
• Preferred: experience applying traditional AI/ML methods to streaming data.
• Preferred: full-stack development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React, Next, Leaflet, MapLibre, and Redux.
• Preferred: API REST framework development and maintenance experience.
• Preferred: experience delivering and supporting solutions in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OpenStack.
• Preferred: experience with containerized deployments such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Preferred: experience with CI/CD tools and workflows such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, Harness, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Preferred: experience with SQL database development, schema design, query optimization, or data modeling, including technologies such as PostgreSQL and Apache Iceberg.
• Preferred: experience supporting research and development efforts and building production-capable systems from greenfield work with receptive customers.
• Preferred: experience leading technical initiatives for cross-disciplinary teams.
• Preferred: experience translating requirements from government stakeholders into practical goals, objectives, and tasking.
• Preferred: strong verbal, written, documentation, and organizational skills.
