PM Design Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer and a licensed PE to lead the design and delivery of HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of retail commercial building projects.

In this role, you will oversee project teams, coordinate with clients and consultants, and ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with PM Design’s quality standards. What You Will Do

• Lead the planning, organization, and development of assigned mechanical projects.
• Design and develop HVAC systems, including related energy calculations.
• Design plumbing systems, including sanitary waste, vent, domestic water, and natural gas distribution systems.
• Select, size, schedule, and specify HVAC and plumbing system components.
• Produce and oversee mechanical system documentation using AutoCAD.
• Develop project scopes, preliminary design concepts, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project leadership, clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Direct the work of designers, drafters, and consultants preparing drawings and specifications.
• Conduct site visits, gather field information, and prepare technical studies and reports.
• Monitor project schedules, staffing, budgets, quality, and technical accuracy.
• Proactively identify project risks and act when budgets or schedules are at risk.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mechanical design team members.
• Promote a collaborative, accountable, and client-centered project environment.
• Support resource planning and identify opportunities to improve project efficiency.
• Review and approve assigned employee timesheets as required.
• Perform Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Drafter responsibilities when project needs require additional support.

What You Will Bring to the Team

• Licensed PE
• 7+ years of strong experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for building projects.
• Working knowledge of applicable ASHRAE standards and requirements.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD and mechanical construction documentation.
• Experience selecting, sizing, scheduling, and specifying HVAC and plumbing equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and budgets.
• Experience leading, directing, or mentoring designers, drafters, and consultants.
• Strong understanding of project scopes, specifications, design concepts, and cost estimates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients, consultants, agencies, and internal teams.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to technical accuracy, quality, accountability, and exceptional client service.
• Ability to conduct site visits and gather field information as needed.
