Our organization is in search of a Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrician to become a part of the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at a leading pediatric facility located on the border of New York City and Long Island. This center is a 202-bed tertiary care institution dedicated exclusively to pediatric care.
The ideal applicant will possess experience across a wide spectrum of disorders, including attention deficit disorders, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral challenges, developmental delays, common genetic conditions (such as Down syndrome), as well as sleep and feeding issues and educational challenges related to speech, language, or learning. We are particularly interested in candidates who are Board Certified/Board Eligible in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Pediatricians with significant experience and a strong interest in working with children facing ADHD or other developmental challenges are also encouraged to apply.
The primary duties of this faculty role will involve the clinical assessment and ongoing care of children and adolescents presenting with various developmental and behavioral concerns in an outpatient environment. Additionally, new faculty members will participate in the training of residents and fellows. There may also be opportunities for research for those candidates who demonstrate a commitment to this area. Applicants must hold Board Certification in Pediatrics and be Board Eligible/Certified in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities.
Currently, our Division of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics includes 11 attending physicians, 4 fellows, 1 nurse practitioner, 2 nurses, a psychologist, and a social worker. Faculty members will hold an academic position at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
The pediatric facility was established in 1983 as the only hospital in the New York metropolitan area specifically designed for children. Today, it stands as the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region, accommodating over 750,000 visits each year and serving 1.8 million children across Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. It functions as the tertiary pediatric medical center within our health system and is recognized as the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Nassau and Queens. Our facility has been ranked as the No. 1 children's hospital in New York State and has achieved top 50 national rankings for outstanding care in 10 pediatric subspecialties.
