Your Journey as a Fire Safety Specialist: Perform preliminary design and complex analysis for Performance Based Fire Engineering Model fire and smoke behaviour using Fire Dynamics Simulator (NIST) and similar tools Model occupant evacuation using Pathfinder, Evacnet, and spreadsheet calculations Assess structural systems exposed to fire through computational methods Write independent engineering reports and develop creative engineered solutions Audit existing buildings for fire safety compliance Coordinate with clients, consultants, and enforcing agencies on fire safety aspects Contribute to marketing initiatives and fee proposals for complex projects Maybe even pick up some Māori words from our Kiwi colleagues!
