Senior Software Engineer

Role Description

Develop and design software applications for a driverless technology company. Duties may include:

• Perform software engineering duties to drive scalable dispatching services for commercial ride-hailing and delivery businesses.
• Match users with vehicles to serve their needs and optimize vehicle utilization by directing them to various parts of the city.
• Projects include development of accurate ETA models, efficient matching of rides/deliveries to the AV, and automated fleet management.
• Take ownership of quarterly dispatch projects, from design to implementation.
• Test and validate code via unit, integration, end-to-end, and occasionally road tests with self-driving vehicles.
• Review code change requests of peers and produce well-tested, descriptive code change requests for your code.
• Be responsible for sprint-level planning, delegating tasks to peers, and collaborating with external stakeholders and dependencies.
• Create and maintain design documents, and conduct design reviews for proposals.
• Monitor the health and performance of services/features, collecting relevant metrics and setting up appropriate alerts.
• 100% telecommuting available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer, System Development Engineer, or a related occupation.
• Experience with:
• Docker & Kubernetes
• Postgres and database design
• Postgis
• Asynchronous messaging
• Redis
• Bash scripting
• Typescript
• Cloud technologies
• Linux

Requirements

• The expected base compensation for this role is $202,239.00 to $206,200.00 Annually.
• Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
