Hospital Attendant - OR - Full Time Night Shift (11:00pm - 7:30am)

Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine, our Hospital Attendants are valuable members of our team, who provide routine custodial services to all patient/resident care and public areas throughout the hospital. Our Hospital Attendants in the operating room turnover to prepare room for following surgical cases and cleans Operating Room environment. Qualified candidates should demonstrate excellent intrapersonal skills and time management skills. They should have attention to detail and be able to work with all levels of the organization. Duties of a Hospital Attendant in the OR may include the following but are not limited to: * Picks up and removes hazardous articles which may be on floors, furniture, and equipment and places them in designated receptacles. * Removes all waste from operating room. * Suction canisters, including Neptune devices, are removed appropriately. * Washes floors and equipment as needed including OR beds and surgical lights and booms, walls, kick buckets, glass cabinets, positioning devices. * Changes bed linens. * May set up equipment in assigned areas. * Adheres to all Infection Control and regulatory agency standards. * Cleaning of surgical suites and peri-op areas. * All other related tasks as assigned. Qualifications Required: Must be able to speak English and the ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor. Preferred: Previous experience working in a hospital setting and/or in the hospital industry. Possess excellent intrapersonal skills, time management skills, have attention to detail and be able to work with all levels of the organization. Anticipated Pay Range: The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $35,496 / year. The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience.
