Patient Care Technician - Emergency Department

Job Summary The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse. Incumbents perform routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient. The PCT performs observations of patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse. The PCT performs specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT). Qualifications Education Requirements Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role. High School Diploma or GED Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience Direct patient care experience preferred, but not required for employment.
