Job Title: Fleet Manager

Location: Green Bay, WI

Manager: VP of Logistics

Pay Status: Exempt

Job Summary

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing all fleet operations, including the management of company vehicles, equipment, and driver activities to ensure efficient and compliant transportation of assigned loads. This role coordinates driver scheduling, route optimization, and truck logistics to maximize daily load capacity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire fleet operations, including the management of vehicles and equipment.

• Responsible for scheduling drivers, optimizing routes, reducing downtime, and ensuring maximum loads per day.

• Manage a team of for-hire drivers responsible for over-the-road routes, ensuring they are kept up to date with licensing, credentials and compliance.

• Develop and implement effective strategies to improve fleet operations and efficiency.

• Manage all truck logistics, tracking, accurate bills of lading and invoicing

• Oversee the maintenance of driver ELD devices to ensure compliance with DOT and company policies.

• Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Ensure that all vehicles are well-maintained and equipped with necessary safety equipment.

• Analyze transportation data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in logistics and transportation management.

• Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to improve fleet efficiency and profitability

Education/Experience is required when indicated, desired otherwise.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

• 3+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.

• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA requirements.

• Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

• Position requires minimal lifting (up to 25 lbs.), mostly desk work
• Strength and flexibility to work at a desk for up to eight hours

Satisfactory performance of the essential duties of this job will require standing, kneeling, sitting, and walking as well as fine motor skills (especially of the hands) and the extended reach of arms. Walking, hearing, and sight are required.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties for this position, the employee is primarily located in an office environment.

While on project sites, the employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions and all-season outdoor weather conditions such as extreme cold or extreme heat. The employee may occasionally be asked to work in high/precarious places and/or confined spaces, work within proximity of moving mechanical parts, be around fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, biogas, may be subject to loud noises and strong vibrations, and encounter frequent truck and equipment traffic.

Compensation

Salary is paid on a bi-weekly basis and will be consummate with the value and experience the candidate brings to the role. In addition to base salary, compensation includes the option to participate in company sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance plans and in a retirement savings program as well as paid personal time off and holidays. You will also be eligible for the monthly incentive program paid out at 1.25% of your annual salary.
