Position Summary

Tiny Hearts of America is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and support volunteers across all organizational programs and events. The Volunteer Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers and plays a critical role in ensuring volunteers have a positive, engaging, and meaningful experience while advancing the mission of Tiny Hearts of America.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, comfortable with technology, and passionate about building strong relationships with volunteers, community partners, and program participants.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement

• Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies.
• Represent Tiny Hearts of America at community events, volunteer fairs, and outreach opportunities.
• Build relationships with schools, businesses, faith organizations, and community groups to increase volunteer participation.
• Maintain an active pipeline of prospective volunteers.

Volunteer Onboarding & Training

• Coordinate volunteer applications, interviews, reference checks, and onboarding processes.
• Facilitate volunteer orientation sessions.
• Ensure completion of all required documentation, agreements, and background checks.
• Assign and track required training and certifications.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and compliance documentation.

Volunteer Management

• Match volunteers with appropriate programs, projects, and opportunities.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments.
• Monitor volunteer performance and engagement.
• Address volunteer concerns and provide ongoing support.
• Recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions through appreciation initiatives and recognition programs.

Program & Event Support

• Coordinate volunteer staffing for community events, fundraisers, educational programs, and special projects.
• Ensure adequate volunteer coverage for organizational activities.
• Collaborate with program leaders to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.

Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain volunteer records within the organization's volunteer management system.
• Track volunteer hours, training completion, certifications, and participation.
• Generate monthly and quarterly volunteer reports.
• Assist leadership with volunteer metrics and program impact reporting.

Qualifications
Required

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in volunteer management, nonprofit operations, customer service, community engagement, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online database systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for serving communities and supporting organizational mission initiatives.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Human Services, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience with volunteer management software, CRM systems, or learning management systems.
• Experience coordinating community outreach events.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
