Job Opportunity

Southern Hospitality Company, an entity of Southern Land Company, is headquartered in Nashville, TN and is seeking a bartender to open our new Italian restaurant, Lupo Notte. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, in a fast-paced work environment.

The bartender crafts and serves beverages, interacts with customers, manages bar inventory, and maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. The role requires a blend of technical skills and strong customer service abilities, often in a fast-paced setting.

Essential functions include:

• Beverage Preparation & Service: Prepares and serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, wine, and beer, following standard recipes and presentation standards.
• Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly, take orders, make knowledgeable recommendations, and ensures a positive and enjoyable experience for guests.
• Compliance & Safety: Verifies customer identification to confirm legal drinking age and monitor behavior to ensure responsible alcohol service, adhering to all state and local laws and safety regulations.
• Bar Maintenance & Stocking: Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area, including washing glassware, wiping down surfaces, and replenishing inventory like liquor, garnishes, and supplies.
• Cash Handling: Accurately manage cash and credit card transactions using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system and balance receipts at the end of a shift.
• Collaboration: Works effectively with other front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service to patrons at the bar and in the dining area.
• Health and Safety: Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol beverage control policies and regulations.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

• Mixology Knowledge: Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixology techniques, and current beverage trends.
• Customer Service: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills to handle a diverse clientele and address complaints professionally.
• Multitasking & Organization: The ability to manage multiple orders and tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
• Flexibility: A willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required education and experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience working in a restaurant.
• Tennessee ABC Server Card (must be attained in first 90 days on property).

Physical demands:

• Frequently standing and walking.
• Some lifting up to 25-50 lbs.
