Pathology Associate

$22 - $35 per hour

Altasciences seeks a Pathology Associate to process pathological specimens through gross examinations, necropsies, and tissue preparation in accordance with established protocols. The role includes training to become a Lead Study Technician with responsibilities for specimen handling, quality control, facility maintenance, and protocol compliance.

Responsibilities

Perform necropsies, organ weighing, tissue trimming, and bone marrow smear preparation per company SOPs
Operate Electronic Data Capture System, conduct quality control reviews, and maintain facility records and equipment logs
Progress to Lead Study Technician role including protocol review, pre-necropsy meeting attendance, and study setup completion
Maintain necropsy suites and laboratory areas; manage chemical stocks and waste in accordance with protocols
Order and stock supplies; assist with specialized necropsy and tissue procedures as required

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred; Associate's degree or 6-12 months laboratory experience acceptable
Working knowledge of anatomic biology and aptitude for pathology and histology techniques
Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) and basic to advanced computer skills including MS Office
Proficiency in basic bench chemistry and scientific data analysis requiring advanced math skills
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills
Ability to participate in on-call policy and commit to continuous GLP training

Compensation: $22.00 - $35.00 hourly
