About This Position The Assistant Food Service Director works with the Food Service Director to plan, direct, and coordinate activities associated with running a large food service operation with one or more production kitchens. The Assistant Food Service Director is also responsible for supervising a group of food service workers that are involved with the preparation and distribution of food in the kitchen. Hires, orients, trains and issues corrective action (when applicable) to team members. Review and approve payroll on a weekly basis. Building and maintaining positive connections with clients by regularly communicating, understanding their needs, proactively addressing concerns, providing excellent service, and working to ensure their continued satisfaction with the company's products or services, ultimately aiming to retain them as long-term customers. Oversees the appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served according to facility or site plan. Insures team is adequately trained and capable to perform job responsibilities in a safe and compliant manner. Responsible for maintaining accuracy of inventory in advance preparation of planned menu schedule.
