Mobile Phlebotomist

Location Portland, OR 97230, USA Pay $21 USD to $23 USD per hour. Pay is based on factors such as skill set, experience, and location. Employment Type Full Time Requisition MOBIL031068 Description The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, provides clinical pre‑analytical laboratory services to clients and patients in a mobile setting. Responsibilities include completing assigned routes safely and timely while following all company policies and procedures. Responsibilities Drive vehicle to client facilities, primarily nursing homes, as directed by dispatcher. Unload phlebotomy tray and bring it to patient bedside to collect specimens ordered by physicians. Accurately identify patients before collecting specimens. Collect, label, process, and deliver specimens. Reload equipment and specimens into vehicle for prompt delivery. Communicate regularly with dispatcher to report status and location. Adhere to Universal Precautions to control blood‑borne pathogens and infectious disease exposure. Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational readiness. Keep work area clean and follow safety precautions. Report unsafe conditions, complaints, and problems encountered. Monitor supplies inventory and report low stock or expired supplies. Maintain accurate time records of hours worked and deliver to company as directed. Manage shift, including meal breaks, and comply with on‑call evenings, weekends, and irregular unscheduled overtime as needed. Use only approved documents and follow written procedures for specimen preservation, patient preparation, and specimen management. Required Skills Excellent communication and interaction skills with adults and the elderly. Respect, dignity, and discretion toward customers and patients, honoring their rights. Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality. Current, valid State phlebotomy license (if required). Current, valid State Driver’s license, car insurance, good driving record, and a vehicle in good working condition. Proficient venipuncture and lancet techniques using vacutainer and syringe. Knowledge of laboratory operations and sterile, sanitary conditions. Physical Demands The role requires walking, standing, handling, speaking, and hearing. Occasional sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift or move up to 35 pounds. Requires good close vision, depth perception, and focus. Work Environment Work in all weather and driving conditions. Follow health and safety policies, including personal protective equipment, as prescribed by the Environmental Health and Safety Manual. Education High School diploma or equivalent. Licenses & Certifications Valid Driver’s License. State phlebotomy license if required.
