Job Description

This role focuses on wiring new and used truck chassis, troubleshooting electrical systems, and thoroughly testing equipment prior to release. You will work in a manufacturing shop environment after the mechanical assembly stage, using your knowledge of electrical schematics, blueprints, and electrical flow to ensure all equipment operates safely and meets quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Wire new and used truck chassis as part of the manufacturing process following mechanical assembly.
• Perform all necessary routines related to electronic components to ensure proper function and reliability.
• Ensure all equipment meets established quality standards for electrical assembly.
• Verify that completed equipment functions properly through thorough inspection and testing.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and all related documentation accurately.
• Install and terminate electrical components, wiring, and connections according to specifications.
• Fabricate and install conduit lines to support electrical routing and protection.
• Update paperwork and documentation to reflect any changes made during installation or testing.
• Operate shop equipment safely, including ironworker, band saw, drill presses, hand drills, overhead cranes, and other tools as required.
• Operate a forklift in accordance with safe operating procedures and maintain required training certification.
• Test-run completed equipment prior to shipment to confirm performance and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production, quality, and safety goals.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 6 months of electrical experience in a hands-on role.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and blueprints, including electrical symbols and point-to-point wiring.
• Knowledge of electrical AC/DC principles and electrical flow.
• Experience with electrical wiring, terminations, and conduit installation.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and testing electrical systems and components.
• Ability to use basic and specialized tools safely and effectively, including test equipment.
• Capability to work on mechanical assembly-related electrical tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with electrical assembly and electronics installation in a shop or manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with voltage, conduit routing, and electrical test equipment.
• Comfort operating shop machinery such as ironworker, band saw, drill presses, hand drills, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and update paperwork when changes occur.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Willingness to perform both inside and outside shop work as needed.

Work Environment

Work takes place primarily inside the shop, with some tasks performed outside as needed. The shop is described as clean and well-maintained. The environment is not fully climate-controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically working four 10-hour days and a half day on Friday: 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, with most overtime being voluntary. There is also flexibility to start between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM and finish between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM. You will regularly use shop equipment such as ironworkers, band saws, drill presses, hand drills, overhead cranes, and forklifts, along with electrical test equipment and standard tools appropriate for electrical and mechanical assembly work. Dress code includes appropriate shop attire and safety footwear, supported by a boot reimbursement program.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hugo, MN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Hugo,MN.
