CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETIST

Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval – award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Duties Certified Nurse Anesthetist positioned in the Surgical Service Line at the Providence VA Medical Center, Providence, Rhode Island. Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Provide comprehensive anesthetic services across five general categories: pre‑anesthesia evaluation and preparation; anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence; post‑anesthesia care; peri‑anesthetic and clinical support functions; and emergency response techniques. Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans for patients requiring local, regional, general, or monitored anesthesia both within and outside the operating room. Deliver high‑quality, timely anesthesia care that promotes patient safety and satisfaction, and improves outcomes and efficiencies. Serve as a resource for staff education, acting as a preceptor and adjunct clinical faculty for health‑care trainees. Use evidence‑based practices to improve the quality of anesthesia care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary health‑care professionals to achieve common goals for patient safety and welfare.
