About the Role:

The Mold Setter Level I plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by setting up, adjusting, and maintaining molding equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality production. This position involves working closely with injection molding machines to prepare molds for production runs, troubleshoot minor issues, and perform routine maintenance. The role requires a strong attention to detail to guarantee that molds are correctly installed and aligned, minimizing defects and downtime. The Mold Setter Level I contributes to meeting production targets by ensuring machines operate smoothly and safely. This position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and install molds on injection molding machines according to specifications and production schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of molding equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Monitor machine operation during production runs to detect and resolve minor issues promptly.
• Adjust mold settings and machine parameters to maintain product quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet production goals and adhere to safety standards.
• Loads programs for Robots and Machines.
• Promptly addresses all buzzers, alarms and red lights.
• Keeps all areas within responsibility neat, clean and organized at all times.
• Maintains compliance with company safety, housekeeping, rules and procedures to help maintain a safe, healthy work environment.
• Ensures that practices are compliant with the applicable quality system requirements. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or molding environment.
• Basic understanding of molding equipment operation and injection molding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with standing and lifting requirement
• Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions.
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures for molding equipment.
• Basic knowledge of quality control principles related to injection molding.
• Certification or training related to injection molding or equipment maintenance.

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.). 
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Requires manual dexterity.
• Moderate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment. 
• Frequently moves from waist level to floor level. 

Skills:

The required skills in molding equipment operation and injection molding are essential for setting up and maintaining molds to ensure efficient production. Daily tasks involve using these skills to install molds accurately, adjust machine settings, and troubleshoot minor equipment issues to prevent production delays.
