Community Broadband Networks, located in Islandia, NY, is looking for a proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. As our Bookkeeper, you’ll take on a variety of essential tasks, including:

• Managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Processing vendor and subcontractor invoices and verifying purchase orders, delivery tickets, W-9s, COIs, and payment documentation.
• Preparing invoices, progress billings, and change order billing while tracking AR/AP aging and following up on outstanding payments.
• Maintaining job costing, budgets, cost codes, and project expenses, including tracking labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Supporting prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting.
• Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
• Preparing monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports, as well as weekly cash flow reports and assisting with forecasting.
• Monitoring project profitability, budgets, and cost variances.
• Managing subcontractor contracts, insurance, licenses, and compliance documents.
• Preparing year-end 1099s, tax preparation, and CPA requests.
• Collaborating with Project Managers and executives to ensure accurate job costing and billing.
• Improving accounting processes and maintaining accurate records using QuickBooks, Google Sheets, and/or Excel.

To be successful in this role, you should bring:

• 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (construction accounting experience preferred).
• Expertise in AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills, including QuickBooks.
• Experience with job costing (preferred) and knowledge of prevailing wage/certified payroll (a plus).
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
