Physical Therapy Aide

Physical Therapy AideA Physical Therapy Aide is an entry level, temporary position that reports to the Clinic Site Supervisor. Physical therapy aides are members of physical therapy support teams. Working under the supervision of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, P.T. aides perform nonmedical tasks, such as setting up and cleaning treatment rooms and transporting patients to different areas of a health care facility.Essential Responsibilities:Greet patients and manage the logistics of patient care throughout the facility.Applying heat and cold packsMaintaining accurate flow sheets for patient exerciseAnswering patient questionsDirecting patients as instructed by supervising clinicianMaintaining a clean clinic environment, by performing tasks included but not limited to: laundry, routine surface cleaning, trash removal, organization of light equipment, organizing relevant patient health information, and low skilled supervised requests within the scope of the facilityPerforms other duties as assigned by their supervisorSkills and Abilities:Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneousPeople-oriented -- enjoys engaging with patients from a wide variety of backgroundsAdaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in directionDetail-oriented – can follow specific instructionHigh stress tolerance – Can tolerate multi-tasking without becoming frustrated in a fast-paced clinicExperience/Educational requirements:EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED RequiredEXPERIENCE: Health science background and/or prior Physical Therapy Aide experience preferred
