The Dermatology Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of private dermatology practices, clinics, and cosmetic dermatology centers. Working under the supervision of dermatologists, this position involves both direct patient interaction—through in-person visits and telehealth—and assisting with a variety of dermatological procedures including biopsies, excisions, cosmetic treatments, wound care, and general dermatology support. The assistant ensures efficient patient flow and high standards of care by managing clinical and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intake and document medical histories accurately
• Assist dermatologists with procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and cosmetic treatments
• Collect specimens and handle them following proper protocols
• Schedule patient appointments and manage telehealth coordination
• Provide patient education regarding treatments and wound care
• Maintain medical records with attention to detail and confidentiality
• Ensure sterilization and proper maintenance of clinical equipment

Required Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting
• 2+ years experience in medical assisting

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR certification
• Phlebotomy skills
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Excellent patient communication skills
• Knowledge of dermatology-specific procedures
• Experience in specimen handling
• Strong time management and teamwork abilities
