Job Description Job Description Job Summary: As a Yard Spotter, you'll work at Distribution Center Services (DCS) moving yard mules and trailers within H-E-B Retail Support Centers. Upon hire, you'll complete mule and/or tractor training as required. Please note this position is not the Delivery Driver Trainee program used to train full time Drivers. Age Requirement 21+ Qualifications & Key Requirements: 3+ years of experience driving (with a valid driver’s license) (mandatory) - Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities No suspended or revoked driver licenses, permits, or privileges in any state / county (mandatory) - Required Documented proof of a good driving record; applicants chosen to be interviewed must obtain a Life History MVR from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) (required) see below for instructions. NOTE: Police reports will be requested on an applicant whose MVR record reflects an accident To get a copy of your Life History MVR from the Texas DPS, log on to: Select Driver License and Online Services / More online services Click on Request a driver record Enter requested information found on your driver’s license Click on Type 3A (Certified Complete Driving History) 3-year clear MVR, including moving violations, tickets, or (chargeable) accidents, including personal vehicle; record will be reviewed for preventability, based on H-E-B standards - Required No DWI/DUI or felony convictions ever in lifetime - Required Knowledge of the English language (mandatory) according to Regulation 398.3 (c)(4), “Every driver shall be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals and directions given in English and to respond to official inquiries”) - Required Familiarity with Section 2 of the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers Handbook - Required Advanced customer service and interpersonal skills - Required Ability to work with little or no supervision - Required Maintain an excellent attendance and punctuality record - Required Education HS Diploma or GED or equivalent (preferred) - Preferred Licenses/Certifications Successful passing of Dept of Transportation (DOT) physical, DOT drug screen, background check, and verification of work history (required prior to job offer) - Required Ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License upon hire Upon Hire - Required Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen, and meet all DOT driver qualifications - Required Ability to successfully complete all phases of the of the Spotter Trainee Program - Required Physical Demands & Working Conditions Handle multiple, concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment Work primarily weekends, including nights and holidays The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
