Vanderkamp Center | Temporary Position with Potential for Long-Term Employment
Pay: $18–$20 per hour, based on experience

Vanderkamp is seeking a dependable Prep & Event Cook to support weddings, retreats, and special events. This position is ideal for someone with solid kitchen fundamentals who enjoys varied work and wants to grow within a developing culinary program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and menu components according to recipes and production lists
• Cook and plate food for weddings, retreats, and special events
• Set up and maintain organized workstations
• Assist with buffet, family-style, and plated meal service
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and temperature-control standards
• Help with receiving, storage, kitchen cleaning, and event breakdown
• Communicate well and work efficiently as part of a team

Qualifications

• Professional kitchen, catering, banquet, or event experience preferred
• Strong knife skills and basic cooking knowledge
• Dependable, organized, and able to follow direction
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment
• Available for weekday retreats and weekend events
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on the event calendar
• ServSafe certification preferred
