Job Title Systems Engineer – Technical Advisor, Systems Engineering Job Summary KBR’s National Security Solutions team seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. The role involves developing and managing system‑of‑systems solutions in a highly classified environment. An active TS/SCI clearance is required. Responsibilities Performs engineering work in the development of an operable system of systems capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints including mass, cost and schedule. Designs and researches system interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable end‑to‑end system. Performs functional analysis of a kill chain to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and feeds the analysis results back to the subsystem development teams. Formulates, recommends, and directs operations and procedures to resolve engineering and/or technical problems regarding operations, staffing, and equipment utilization on specific projects. Develops acquisition roadmaps to ensure system development timelines meet operational requirements within need dates. Provides technical assistance and instruction related to design problems and the resolution of construction or operating difficulties. Conducts special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommends changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet changed or new requirements. Analyzes project requirements and provides information and instruction for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and modifying equipment as appropriate. Anticipates internal and external business challenges and/or regulatory/compliance issues and recommends process, product, or service improvements. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact, requiring conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions. Mentors and advises project teams on projects with notable risk and complexity. Develops the strategy for project execution. Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 10 years of related experience. Desired Qualifications Experience with Space Combat Power programs. Master’s degree in a related field. Work Environment Location: Onsite – El Segundo, CA. Work Hours: Standard. Compensation For California only, the salary range for this position is approximately $170,000 to $205,000, based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and internal parity.
