Radiology Tech, PRN, Variable Shifts

Job Summary The Technologist II – Radiology at North Mississippi Health Services plays a crucial role in performing various technical procedures requiring independent judgment and applying ionizing radiation. The position contributes to budget control by minimizing supply use and overtime, and acts as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and family members to ensure effective communication and interaction within the Radiology department. Job Functions Technical Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative in applying prescribed ionizing radiation. Budget Minimize supply use and maintain overtime at 3% or less. Liaison Serve as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and family members to ensure effective communication. Ensure high‑quality health care is delivered within the Radiology department by effectively interacting and cooperating with providers. Reporting Prepare and present patient reports/projects as required. Maintain correct exams and charges on a daily basis. Regulation Possess training and experience to work in at least two of the following modalities: CT, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology, or as a NMMCI Urgent Care tech performing laboratory testing and routine radiography after hours and on weekends. Adhere to NMHS/NMMC policies, procedures, guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent – required. Associate’s Degree from an AMA‑approved school – required. Licenses & Certifications CPR – Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation – required. Licensed Radiologic Technologist – medical technical license for the state in which the facility is located – required. ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, registered or eligible by ARRT or RDMS in a minimum of two modalities – required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills – required. Maintain practice of departmental and institutional policies, procedures, regulations, and information – required. Control unnecessary costs to patients and the facility – required. Assist radiologist and other physicians during procedures – required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills – required. Positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff, and the public served – required. Minimize unnecessary radiation exposure to patients – required.
